Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band back for second time

Kenny Wayne Shepherd never wavered from his childhood fixations on cars and guitars.

The 36-year-old bluesman dug into the guitar in earnest after meeting Stevie Ray Vaughan at age 7.

And he has attributed his current muscle car collection to watching “The Dukes of Hazzard” and stuffing his pockets full of Hot Wheels as a lad.

Shepherd’s quintet, back in town for the second time this year, includes Vaughan’s Double Trouble drummer Chris Layton. Since his March shows, Shepherd teamed up with classic rocker Stephen Stills and Chicago bluesman Barry Goldberg for a side project called The Rides.
