Boy George throat polyp forces Culture Club tour cancellation

A polyp in Boy George’s throat has forced ’80s pop favorite Culture Club to postpone its reunion tour, including a Nov. 22 date at the Palms.

Fans are given the option to hold on to their tickets for a future date to be announced, which is usually a good sign that the show will indeed be rescheduled. When refunds are the only option, it often means a return date is unlikely.

The cancellation announcement explained “a top throat specialist” discovered the polyp in the 53-year-old singer and “advised him that he cannot sing under his condition as it may necessitate an operation.”

“We are hoping we can reschedule the concerts for next year, and hopefully George’s problem will be resolved,” said a statement collectively attributed to Culture Club.
