Erykah Badu among performers at Las Vegas Soul Festival
April 5, 2013 - 1:04 am
If Erykah Badu keeps fans waiting this time, they will have plenty of other good singers to tide them over at the Las Vegas Soul Festival.
The enigmatic singer known for tardiness is joined Saturday by the gospel singing of the single name Joe, SWV (Sisters With Voices) and former Tower of Power frontman Lenny Williams.
Sunday’s headliners are urban-contemporary gospel and reality TV stars Mary Mary, the sister act of Erica and Tina Campbell. They are supported by Kindred the Family Soul (spouses Fatin Dantzler and Aja Graydon ), jazz saxophonists Marion Meadows and Elan Trotman, singer-guitarist Jonathan Butler, the Las Vegas United Voices, Dr. Bobby Jones and Sheila E., the singer-percussionist of Prince fame.
The two-day festival benefits the Lazarex Cancer Foundation. Show time is 7:15 both days at the Thomas & Mack Center.
