Todd Snider deliver blue-collar blues to The Bunkhouse
January 29, 2015 - 8:28 pm
Good things happen to bad people and vice versa in Todd Snider’s cutting catalog.
Heavy on wit and pathos alike, Snider’s big tent Americana brings blues, country, folk and rock ’n’ roll together to twang against the machine.
His socially aware storytelling often details the rough-and-tumble lives of fringe dwellers, blue-collar ham-and-eggers and ne’er-do-wells who struggle to make ends meet in a system that seems rigged against them.
As dire as the subject matter of some of his tunes can be, however, they’re warmed by Snider’s lived-in voice and his will to keep pushing on in the face of the ills he consistently confronts.
