New chamber group debuts in Las Vegas

A new chamber ensemble, the Las Vegas Sinfonietta, will open its season with performances at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Doc Rando Recital Hall at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway, and 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Green Valley Presbyterian Church, 1796 Wigwam Parkway, Henderson.

Admission is free, but there is a suggested donation of $15 Friday and a freewill donation Saturday.

Brandenburg Concerto No. 4 in G Major by Johann Sebastian Bach will open the concert. Steven Trinkle, a former member of the Houston and Augusta symphonies, will be the soloist for Karl Amadeus Hartmann's Concerto for Trumpet and Seven Solo Wind Instruments. The concert will conclude with Igor Stravinsky's "Pulcinella Suite."

The Las Vegas Sinfonietta's mission is to bring innovative and inspiring musical performances to audiences.
