Intimate setting, service separate Azure from larger dayclubs

It's not Rehab or Wet Republic.

And that's just fine with Marc Jay, president of One Global Events and Marketing, which handles marketing for Azure Luxury Pool at the Palazzo, 3325 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

That they are not Rehab or Wet Republic seems to be a selling point for several Vegas pool parties this summer.

Instead of the raucous party atmosphere at some of the larger dayclubs, venues such as Azure are stressing their cozy, intimate settings and personalized service.

"It truly is a five-star experience," Jay says. "People who come here are not interested in being in a pool that holds 1,000 people. We don't get the 'Jersey Shore' crowd here, they tend to go to other pools."

Azure features three pools and has a capacity of about 500. The draw is the top-notch service, Jay says, such as the minispa treatments offered poolside by Canyon Ranch SpaClub.

The pool offers themes on the days of operation, Fridays through Sundays. Fridays are Femme Fridays, a chance to celebrate all things female, that includes female DJs spinning a variety of music. Stereo Love Saturdays has the vibe of European beach parties, and Dolce Vita Sundays is an international brunch party with DJs. On Sundays, they also break out the volleyball net and throw beach balls around the pool, Jay says.

For the first time in its three years of operation, Azure is offering a hookah lounge. An onsite hookah master will help guests select from 30 tobacco flavors such as apple, white peach or guava. A hookah costs $100 for unlimited refills on one pipe or $40 for one flavor and $20 refill prices.

The pool is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays through Sundays. Cover charge is $10 for women and $20 for men. Cover charge is waived for locals on Sundays. Also, Azure offers a sponsored bar for women from 1 to 3 p.m. Sundays.

Reservations are available for the 11 cabanas, 18 daybeds and 30 lounge chairs; prices vary.
