Parting Party

After six years as one of the pre-eminent nightclubs in Las Vegas, Body English at the Hard Rock will close its doors New Year's Day.

The Nightlife Group, which owns Body English, isn't getting out of the business. Rather, they're opening the new Vanity in the Hard Rock expansion, says the company's managing partner, Cory McCormack.

The space where Body English is now will be remodeled and reopened as an after-hours club, sometime in mid-2010, he says.

A who's who of famous, and infamous, people have partied or played in Body English, including Paris Hilton, Velvet Revolver, Camp Freddy, Jared Leto, Kanye West, Jamie Foxx, Snoop Dogg and more.

Locals only have one last chance to check out the 12,000-square-foot club and even get in on an "auction" to take home a piece of it.

The guest who spends the most money that night, at least $15,000, will win the chandelier that hangs from the club's ceiling and has become somewhat of an icon for them, McCormack says.

Resident DJ Presto One will spin music for the Body English swan song. Since it's New Year's Eve, admission will cost $100 and $150 for an all-you-can-drink ticket.

The dress code is still club wear; doors open at 9 p.m. and will close "whenever the last man is standing," McCormack says.
