Rio gives buffet discounts to local players club members

The Rio is offering substantial buffet discounts to local Total Rewards members. Through the month of June, local residents (who must show a Total Rewards Card and an ID) can purchase a breakfast buffet for just $5.99. Those earning 100 Base Reward Credits ($500 coin-in on slots, $1,000 video poker; no point redemption required) will receive a complimentary lunch or dinner buffet.

The bingo rooms at both the Gold Coast and Suncoast will give away porcelain dolls at all sessions Sunday.

Binion's has made major revisions to its players club. Club Binion's members now earn one point for every $1.50 coin-in on slots, and $3 coin-in on video poker. Every 100 points can be redeemed for $1. We also have heard that the Back Stage Pass players club at the Hard Rock Hotel is undergoing several revisions Wednesday.

Beginning Tuesday, all $200-plus slot jackpot winners and all $300-plus video poker winners at the El Cortez will have their choice of a wallet containing $10 to $1,000 in free play or a $10 gift card from Smith's, Wal-Mart, Mobil/Exxon, Sears, Shell Oil or Sam's Club. (Our advice: Choose the wallet.) As usual, winners also will receive an entry into the following Saturday night's drawing for four $500 prizes and a 42-inch HDTV.

Poker players with 30 hours of tracked play at the South Point in May will receive a special logo poker room jacket. Those playing an additional 10 hours also will receive a special hat.

Earn 250 Prime Rewards points ($250 coin-in; no point redemption required) on Tuesdays at Jokers Wild or on Wednesdays at the Eldorado and you will receive $10 in cash.

Every Tuesday in May, players earning 1,000 Amigo Club points ($1,000 coin-in on slots, $2,000 video poker; no redemption required) at Fiesta Henderson may receive a $10 gas card, up to a maximum of five per day.
