Molinaro’s LV gig allows her to keep up with Kardashian

Here's a fun development. Singer Melissa Molinaro is appearing at a Vegas nightclub this weekend, just as Kim Kardashian often does.

Why is that awesome? Because Kardashian is suing Old Navy for putting Molinaro in TV ads, claiming she's merely a Kardashian look-alike.

Molinaro also reportedly is dating Kardashian's ex, Reggie Bush.

So now, is Molinaro taking over Kardashian's club territory in Vegas? Not exactly.

Kardashian has appeared at Tao and Wet Republic this summer. Molinaro is walking the red carpet at Saturday's fifth anniversary party for gay club Piranha. Why Piranha?

"I performed there a few months ago," Molinaro told me by email Thursday. "They called me back for their five-year anniversary, and I was honored to be a part of it."

Molinaro isn't a defendant in Kardashian's lawsuit, but she wouldn't reply to questions about Kardashian or the case.

Actually, Molinaro was a regular on TV two years before Kardashian was. Molinaro was a finalist on "Making the Band 3" in 2005, then a finalist on "The Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll" in 2007.

"Keeping Up With the Kardashians" started in 2007.

Unlike Kardashian, Molinaro does not have a sex tape but does sing a song called "Sex Tape."

"I like to consider myself still a virgin to Vegas," Molinaro says. "I've only been a handful of times."

I don't think "handful" is part of the definition of "virgin," but we'll let that slide.

THE VOICE OF FANTASY

Lorena Peril, singing headliner in topless revue "Fantasy" at Luxor, earned a spot in blind auditions for NBC's "The Voice," but she didn't make it to the main competition, despite a standing ovation.

She did, however, remain friends with "Voice" winner Javier Colon, Frenchie Davis and other contestants.

This weekend, Peril is going to see her friends sing in "The Voice" tour Saturday at MGM. They in turn plan to see her at "Fantasy" after their show.

Peril was asked to audition for next season's "Voice," but she turned down that "honor" in favor of the gig she loves at Luxor.

Men ask her all the time: Why isn't she topless in "Fantasy"? She responds, "Would you even be listening to me if I was singing a ballad topless?"

"And I would hurt myself. I would beat some guy up in the audience with my boobies, the way I shake it. That would be painful."
