Rod Stewart at home in Las Vegas, reality TV

Former wild man Rod Stewart makes no secret of saying one of the joys of playing the Colosseum at Caesars Palace is the ability to jet back home to Beverly Hills, Calif., after each show.

"I'm in bed by half past 11, and see my kids in the morning," the eternal rock god said in 2013. He was speaking of his two youngest children, from his third marriage.

But now he can cue up his DVR and keep up with some of the older ones via the new E! reality show "Stewarts & Hamiltons." The eight-installment Kardashians-style show revolves in part around the pop legend's older children, Kimberly and Sean, and promises screen time for Ruby, the daughter who usually joins him for a song or two at the Colosseum.

Stewart's breezy shows at Caesars Palace have the comfortable feel of a victory lap, but the 70-year-old does two things his younger roommates in the rotation do not.

First, he's not stingy with the rear-screen live close-ups that let people in the balcony see his craggy face.

Second? Well, we're still waiting for Mariah Carey to kick a soccer ball to the middle balcony.
