What does Carrot Top do for entertainment?

Las Vegas offers a seemingly endless array of entertainment options. With so many things to do, it can often be difficult to decide where to go. To help you out, Entertainment Diet asks prominent Las Vegans how they spend their free time. This week Carrot Top, who's no stranger to the pop culture eye, fills us in on how he's been entertaining himself.

As manic as he is in his show, Carrot Top has a disclaimer: Offstage, "I'm pretty boring actually."

"I go in (to get ready) for the show at 6 p.m., so by the time I get up, get motivated, have a little lunch and maybe go for a little run on the treadmill, it's time to go to work," he explains. "Once in a while I'll go to Red Rock and do a little trail with my dog ... .

"It's very very much like 'Groundhog Day' in Las Vegas. I do the show, I go home, I wake up and do the show again."

That said, here's his thoughts on...

Dining out:

"There's one place we always go for brunch on Sunday called DW Bistro. That's always fun because they have a DJ and a lot of times they'll have theme parties with people in drag or something. I've dragged all my friends to that."

TV:

"I don't get a chance to watch a lot of television because I'm always working and when I get home I'm tired. So I usually end up watching the late-night shows to make sure that I'm current. (Jimmy) Fallon and (Stephen) Colbert. I really like that new kid on CBS ('The Late Late Show' with James Corden). He's really great, really funny. Really refreshing."

Music:

"I love everything with music. Everybody always comments on the music in my show ... I'll do the same bit, but I'll change the song to give it a new flavor.

"The last thing I downloaded was a new Queen album I didn't even realize was out" ( "A Night at the Odeon," a BBC concert from Christmas Eve 1975 at London's Hammersmith Odeon). "And also the deluxe editon of 'Queen Forever,' which has Freddie Mercury's duet with Michael Jackson" ("There Must Be More to Life Than This").

"I also got the new Widespread Panic ("Street Dogs," the jam band's 12th studio album and first in five years). They're friends of mine from Georgia. It's funny, they started their career in '86 when I started mine, so we're all still together jamming and doing it."

"One of the best things about being in this business is you get to meet your peers and people you admire. Maybe you walk up to somebody and say, 'Hey, Carrot Top. Big fan.' Brooks & Dunn came to my show and invited me out to theirs."

Movies:

"I took my mom to see the one about the Catholic church ("Spotlight"). I went to Catholic school, so that was really heavy duty, a heavy, heavy movie. My mom kept looking at me the whole time like, 'Sorry I took you to Catholic school.' I never had any issues like that, though."
