Silverton drawing has $10,000 top prize; senior promotions offered

Every Friday and Saturday night through Aug. 29, the Silverton will draw 30 tickets to win various amounts of cash and prizes, including a nightly top prize of $10,000. Please check the rules regarding how tickets are earned and whether players must be present at the drawings to win. On any day of the week (4 p.m.-10 p.m.), all silver, gold, platinum or diamond Discovery Club members can buy one meal and get one free at all Silverton restaurants.

M Resort is offering several promotions on Mondays and Tuesdays for players age 50-plus. At noon and 4 p.m., the casino draws 25 winners for a total of $2,500. (According to casino publicity, players receive one entry for every 10 points earned, but it did not specify the days of eligible play.) The casino also is giving 50-plus members a 50-percent dining discount on Mondays and Tuesdays when they pay with their points. This excludes alcohol and the Red Cup Café senior menu.

On Tuesdays and Wednesdays at both the Eldorado and Joker's Wild, Young at Heart members (at least 50 years old) earning 200 points ($200 coin-in; no point redemption required) can choose a complimentary meal from a "Special Senior Menu."

Jerry's Nugget is again offering its popular summer "Del Mar Handicapping Contest." Every Saturday through Sept. 5, players can choose five selections from the eight Del Mar races and accumulate points for win, place or show. The highest point earner receives $400, second place gets $100, and both winners receive a $30 dining certificate. Entries can be purchased in advance for $10 for one and $20 for three entries (the maximum allowed per week).

On Sunday, the Eastside Cannery is giving away a "women's cooler" to all players earning 899 same-day base points ($300 coin-in on slots, $450 coin-in on video poker; no point redemption required). The gift for earning 899 same-day base points on Tuesday is a six-pack of wine coolers. Come Monday, Cannery players earning 999 points ($333 coin-in on slots, $500 coin-in on video poker; no point redemption required) receive a "Wipe Out" trinket of treasure (with cash prize). And on Wednesday, Rampart players earning 350 points ($700 coin-in on slots, $1,400 points on video poker; no point redemption required) receive a free salad spinner. All of these gifts also can be earned with table play, so check at the pit or promotion desk for details.
