Wind quintet offers season opener

The Las Vegas Wind Quintet will perform its first concert of the season at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Reed Whipple Cultural Center studio theater, 821 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

The group is made up of clarinetist Dave Hawley, flutist Sherrie Parker, bassoonist Sam Pisciotta, horn player Doug Beasley and oboist and English horn player Mika Bronson.

The performance will include 19th-century Czech polkas "Picaresque" by Glen Paxton, "Divertimento" by Joseph Haydn, "Take Five Blues" by Don Gillis, and "Racconto No. 5, Op. 46" by Jorgen Bentzon.

Admission is free, but tickets are required.
