Still time to get rolling

Submissions to the R-J's YouTube Film Festival so far look impressive, and we thank all who entered our contest. However, these movies will be judged on their creativity, not their budgets. So don't be discouraged, amateur Las Vegas filmmakers. Your pockets only need to run deep enough to hold a camera phone.

Finalists will be featured and profiled in the paper and online; the winner(s) will be announced in the fall. Your original comedy, drama, horror, nonfiction or artistic YouTube film must be shorter than four minutes and must involve Las Vegas in some way. Most importantly -- and we're going to hold you to this -- it must show a copy of the Las Vegas Review-Journal at least once.

Here's a sample submission: www.youtube.com/watch?v=agLwIGF6SUg

Submit a link to your YouTube short to clevitan@reviewjournal.com, e-mail subject line: "Online Film Festival," by Sept. 30. Films submitted in any other way will not be considered.
