Suicidal Tendencies still defying convention
October 21, 2010 - 11:00 pm
Nowadays, hardcore and heavy metal are virtually synonyms with one another thanks to the adrenalized alchemy of bands like Hatebreed. But one of the groups to do it first -- and do it the best -- was Suicidal Tendencies, who merged a punk consciousness with metallic riffing to bruising effect beginning in the early '80s. Decades later, they're still at it, defying their name right along with convention.
See Suicidal Tendencies at 7 p.m. today at the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay, 3950 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Tickets are $35; call 632-7600.
