Cadence parks offer free Wi-Fi

There is seemingly a day, week or month of observance for just about everything.

January is Adopt a Rescued Bird Month. Everybody Deserves a Massage Week is always the third full week of July. And, on Oct. 10, yet another National Handbag Day was celebrated.

Oct. 29 marks a big day to celebrate, as it is World Internet Day. We've come a long way since Oct. 29, 1969, when the first electronic message was sent across two computers on the campus of University of California, Los Angeles.

At Cadence in Henderson, there is good reason to celebrate all of the modern advances since that day more than 45 years ago. Nowadays there is an expectation that Internet service will be available no matter where you are — at the local coffee shop, at the mall, in the library, at the spa and also at work, among other locations.

At Cadence, a 2,200-acre master-planned community southwest of Lake Las Vegas on Lake Mead Parkway, homebuyers are looking for Internet access within their neighborhood. And, that is just what they are getting.

Cadence's Central Park offers free fast and reliable Wi-Fi. Outlets, for those desiring an extended day of surfing the Web outdoors, are available throughout the grounds. Also, the tiered amphitheater in the 50-acre Cadence Central Park offers outlets, providing a tranquil backdrop for residents.

Cadence's residents are already taking advantage of the modern amenity, using the Wi-Fi for remote work, computer game gatherings, streaming music and movie date nights. Also, complimentary Wi-Fi is available at the community's Home Finding Center and, in the future, will be accessible in neighborhood parks, the planned sports park and additional phases of Central Park.

"Folks are already watching movies, listening to music and much more on their laptops and mobile devices," said Cheryl Persinger, vice president of marketing for Cadence. "For all of Cadence's parks, we wanted to make sure residents had free access to Wi-Fi so they don't have to dip into their data plans or travel outside of the community for a tranquil place to surf the Web."

Upon completion, Cadence will have 13,250 homes, 450 acres of open space including its 50-acre Central Park, 100-acre sports park and 30 acres of trails that will interconnect with regional trails such as the Las Vegas Wash Trail and the River Mountains Loop Trail. Also, Cadence features a bike share program and forthcoming retail locations and office space.

Cadence features 18 model homes and 26 floor plans by three builders — Woodside Homes, Ryland Homes and Richmond American Homes. Lennar is building Heritage, an active-adult community, and will have models open later this year.

Full details on the current and forthcoming homes from Cadence's builders may be accessed at the Cadence Home Finding Center, just off Lake Mead Parkway at Sunset Road.

Cadence is near the Galleria Mall at Sunset, The District at Green Valley Ranch, Cowabunga Bay Water Park, St. Rose Dominican Hospitals and several retail centers and restaurants.
