Globe-trotter Plants Roots in Spanish Palms Community

Bruce Anderson has traveled the world and lived in every climate imaginable, but as an Arizona native, the desert continually draws him back. When he moved to Las Vegas two decades ago, he had not previously visited the city, but his instinct compelled him to take a risk and make the valley his home. Anderson recently purchased a spacious one-bedroom residence at Spanish Palms, a guard-gated condominium community at 5250 S. Rainbow Blvd.

“My deep passion for landscape design, construction and renovation drove me to pursue a role with Mandalay Bay and Four Seasons 20 years ago, and I’ve since had the opportunity to work with many Strip properties, including as the horticulture design director for Steve Wynn’s interior gardens,” Anderson said.

“Over the last two decades, I’ve purchased and renovated many older single-family homes, including six properties within Spanish Trails. I always knew about Spanish Palms, but it wasn’t until my Realtor recommended I see the community firsthand that I fell in love with what is now my home sweet home.”

Anderson lived within the heart of the Strip inside CityCenter during construction of T-Mobile Arena, which amplified his distaste for a fast-paced lifestyle pace and traffic congestion. Longing for peace and relaxation, Anderson locked in his first home at Spanish Palms nearly a year ago.

“When I saw the one-bedroom residence on the second floor, I knew it was everything I needed. It was spacious, affordable and enveloped by so much lush landscaping that it feels like I’m worlds away from the city. And when I need to travel to the Strip for business and pleasure, it’s a short drive from home,” said Anderson.

He used his creativity and knack for interior design to further upgrade and decorate his home before selling it a couple months ago. Anderson began scouting the Spring Valley area to find another residence, and he was stunned to discover that no other neighborhood or community could compare to Spanish Palms’ prices and overall value.

“It dawned on me that I need to stay at Spanish Palms because of its complete package, including resort-style amenities and the 24-hour guard-gated security, which allows me to lock and leave my home with confidence — something that is so important for a traveler like me. So what did I do? I purchased an identical residence to my first Spanish Palms home! I moved in about a month ago and couldn’t be happier,” Anderson said.

Spanish Palms’ attached two-car garages, a rarity for most condominiums, are another important selling point to Anderson.

“I am a car fanatic so finding a condominium community with attached garages is a rare gem, and it’s definitely one of the main reasons I moved here,” he said.

Less than 12 of 370 homes are still available for purchase in the complex. Spanish Palms continues to be one of the fastest-selling condominium communities in Las Vegas for many reasons, including enhanced amenities, such as a fitness studio, private clubhouse for gatherings and parties, and two resort-style pools. The centerpiece of the community is Central Park, which features lush, well-manicured landscaping with barbecue grills, making it ideal for picnics and entertaining; plenty of shaded areas; and a playground, putting green, gazebo and pet park complete with an agility course.

Spanish Palms offers three single-story floor plans ranging between 744 and 1,131-plus square feet. Each home comes with its own attached garage, which provides an additional storage stage, a rarity in the condominium world. Homes are priced starting from $138,900.

Located in west Las Vegas across from the celebrated, private golf club Spanish Trail, Spanish Palms is just minutes from the Strip and McCarran International Airport, and it is surrounded by popular restaurants, retail centers and neighborhood services. Spanish Palms offers several financing programs including Veterans Affairs, Federal Housing Administration and Fannie Mae-backed loans that make buying a home possible for many who otherwise aren’t in a position to buy.

For more information, call 702.719.6100 or visit SpanishPalmsLV.com. The sales center is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
