Inspirada demonstrates commitment to charitable giving with St. Jude Walk

Inspirada, the master-planned community in Henderson, jump-started the return of cooler temperatures by hosting the first ever Southern Nevada St. Jude Walk at Aventura Park on Saturday, Sept. 24.

Made up of five builders, including Beazer Homes, Century Communities, KB Home, Pardee Homes and Toll Brothers, Inspirada welcomed more than 700 participants who joined together to support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s lifesaving mission of finding cures and saving children battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

“September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, so it made perfect sense for us to host the inaugural walk for St. Jude Las Vegas,” Jim Rizzi, Inspirada project manager, said. “Giving back to our community is part of the foundation Inspirada was built on, therefore it was truly amazing to see so many residents and nonresidents come together for a great cause. We look forward to many more charitable partnerships in the future.”

In addition to a scenic 5K walk/run through Inspirada’s Aventura Park, the morning featured a speaker, family-friendly activities and live entertainment.

Several weeks ago, Inspirada installed gardens at Liberty High School as part of an exciting collaboration with Green Our Planet, a nonprofit conservation organization that aims to create positive impact in environmental education and change.

Throughout the school year, volunteers from all five Inspirada builders and select students will attend monthly garden team meetings to track the progress of their plants.

Over time, students will learn how to identify their plants’ nutritional and environmental values, proper irrigation techniques, economic impact, as well as financial ways to benefit from the fruits of their labor, including selling them at pop-up produce markets hosted at Liberty High School.

In addition to its 85-acre system of parks, trails and open spaces, Inspirada is the gateway to Sloan Canyon National Recreation Area that includes more than 1,700 petroglyphs.

There are more than 66 model homes ready to tour in 17 new Inspirada neighborhoods that feature one-, two- and three-story single-family homes and townhomes designed for every lifestyle that range in price from the high $100,000s to $500,000s.

With a projected build-out of 8,500 homes, Inspirada is home to more than 2,500 residents who have access to programs and activities managed by a full-time staff that creates social calendars to bring neighbors together in the parks and the Inspirada Community Center.
