7 places to celebrate Oktoberfest in Las Vegas

Munich's Oktoberfest may be but a soggy, beer-soaked memory (complete with all of the curious objects in the lost and found) for another year, but there still are plenty of places to celebrate in the Las Vegas Valley. Here's a lucky seven:

Aliante Hotel + Casino, 7200 N. Aliante Parkway, North Las Vegas: Through Oct. 31, German favorites in the Medley Buffet; Farm 24-7 offering pumpkin pancakes with cinnamon-cream-cheese icing, $7.99, and two pork chops in mushroom gravy with mashed potatoes and collard greens, $12.

Barley's Casino & Brew Pub, 4500 E. Sunset Road in Henderson: Barley's Red Rock Lager is a traditional Oktoberfest lager, marzen-style with a slightly sweet malty finish (the German-style brewery adheres to the German beer purity law, Reinheitsgebot), and ranges from $3.25 for 12 ounces to $5 for 32 ounces, or $8.99 for 64-ounce growlers ($4.99 for growler refills); growlers also are available at Total Wine & More.

Double Barrel Roadhouse, Monte Carlo, 3770 Las Vegas Blvd. South: Through Oct. 31: Three seasonal craft beers on draft (New Belgium Pumpkick, Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest and Post Road Pumpkin Ale), $8, plus the Jack O Range cocktail, with Ketel One Oranje, RumChata and pumpkin puree, $15.

Hard Rock Cafe, 3771 Las Vegas Blvd. South and at the Hard Rock Hotel, 4475 Paradise Road: Through Oct. 31: Samuel Adams Oktoberfest Schnitzel Burger, pork schnitzel with beer cheese sauce, bacon, sauerkraut, whole-grain mustard and arugula on a pretzel bun, with fries and a Samuel Adams Oktoberfest beer, $15.95.

Hofbrauhaus Las Vegas, 4510 Paradise Road: Daily through Oct. 31, music, food and beer imported from Munich, Germany, with celebrity keg-tappers every Friday and Saturday and some Thursdays and Sundays.

Lazy Dog Restaurant & Bar, 1725 Festival Plaza Drive, Downtown Summerlin: Through Oct. 31, pretzel-crusted schnitzel with red apple-cabbage cole slaw, red potato salad and creamy mustard sauce, $14.50; Oktoberfest beer sampler, $8.25.

Miracle Mile Shops, 3663 Las Vegas Blvd. South: Shoptoberfest every Friday and Saturday in October, buy a souvenir beer mug and wristband for $5 at Blondies Sports Bar & Grill, then fill your mug at participating restaurants in the Miracle Mile Shops for $2. Food specials, $5, plus discounts at some stores.
