GARDEN CLUBS

The Las Vegas Chrysanthemum Society will meet at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Nevada Garden Clubs Center, 3333 W. Washington Ave. The topic will be "Preparing to Grow" (459-4633).

The Sunset Garden Club will meet at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Sunset Room at Green Valley Library, 2797 N. Green Valley Parkway, Henderson. The topic will be "Wildflowers in the Desert" with a slide presentation by Kathie Slaughter, master gardener (451-0854).

WOMEN'S GROUP

The Valley of Fire Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution will have its monthly meeting at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Nevada History Museum, 700 Twin Lakes Drive. The program will be "Mount Vernon." Participants should bring a brown bag lunch (233-0519).

Professor Clifford Orwin of the University of Toronto will present "Is Compassion Good for Us? Nietzsche's Politically Incorrect Thoughts" at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Barrick Museum Auditorium at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway.
