Author Kyril Plaskon will sign and discuss "Silent Heroes of the Cold War: Declassified" at 10 a.m. Thursday at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, 4550 S. Maryland Parkway, and noon Saturday at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, 10834 W. Charleston Blvd.

Children's author Lewis Kimberly will sign and discuss "Granny McFanny" at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Historic Fifth Street School, 401 S. Fourth St.

EVENTS

"An Afternoon with Norm Clarke and Tony Curtis: Inside the Actors Studio Vegas Style" will be presented at 2 p.m. today at Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road. A book signing will follow the presentation.

Becky Davis, author of the children's book "Red Carpet Chronicles: Mojave Desert Plants Reveal All to Terri Terrain," will present a summer reading program as part of the Henderson Public Library's Summertime Tales series at 9 a.m. Thursday at Galleria Library in the Galleria at Sunset mall, 1300 W. Sunset Road, Henderson.

The Amazing Reads Book Club meets at 7 p.m. the fourth Wednesday of each month at West Charleston Library, 6301 W. Charleston Blvd.

The SNAFFU Science Fiction Book Club meets at 2 p.m. the fourth Sunday of the month at the Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.

The Cover 2 Cover Book Club meets at 7 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of each month at Rainbow Library, 3150 N. Buffalo Drive.

STORY TIMES

Story time with music and crafts is offered Tuesdays at 11 a.m. and the second Saturday of the month at Barnes & Noble, 567 N. Stephanie St., Henderson.

Story time in the Square is offered at 11 a.m. Wednesdays in Children's Park at Town Square Las Vegas, 6605 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Individual libraries within the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District offer a variety of story times and special events for children of all ages throughout the year. Most libraries require registration for their programs. Call the libraries for details.
