SIGNINGS

Artist Dale Chihuly will sign and discuss his book "Chihuly Black" at 1 p.m. Saturday in Chihuly at Bellagio, 3600 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

"An Afternoon with David Guterson," the author of "Snow Falling on Cedars," will discuss his life experiences and writings, including his current book "The Other" at 2 p.m. today in the Main Theater at Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.

EVENTS

"Craft: A Conversation," a panel discussion moderated by author Richard Wiley with poet Luljeta Lleshanaku and authors Mary Palvesky and Robert Rosenberg, will be at 7 p.m. Monday in the UNLV Barrick Museum auditorium, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway.

"Poetry at Ground Zero," a poetry workshop with authors Gregory Kompes, Leslie Hoffman and others from the Laudable Tarnished Writers Guild, will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Jewel Box Theater at Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.

The Green Valley Library reopens Saturday with a celebration featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony and live music by John Earl and the Boogieman Band at 11:30 a.m. at 2797 N. Green Valley Parkway, Henderson. Other events include "Sink or Swim," a discussion with Robert Massi on how to survive in the new economy at 2 p.m., and adult computer classes and children's story time at 3 p.m. Tours of the renovated facility also will be available.

The Mahogany Circle Book Club meets at 11 a.m. the first Saturday of the month and the SNAFFU Science Fiction Book Club meets at 2 p.m. the fourth Sunday of the month at the Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road.

The Cover 2 Cover Book Club meets at 7 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of each month at Rainbow Library, 3150 N. Buffalo Drive.

The Sahara West Book Discussion Group meets at 7 p.m. the last Thursday of each month at Sahara West Library, 9600 W. Sahara Ave.

STORY TIMES

Story time with music and crafts is offered Tuesdays at 11 a.m. and the second Saturday of the month at Barnes & Noble, 567 N. Stephanie St., Henderson.

Story time in the Square is offered at 11 a.m. Wednesdays in Children's Park at Town Square Las Vegas, 6605 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Individual libraries within the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District offer a variety of story times and special events for children of all ages throughout the year. Most libraries require registration for their programs. Call the libraries for details.
