SIGNINGS

Charles Lee Bilberry will sign and discuss "There's More Leaves on the Tree" at 1 p.m. Saturday at Barnes & Noble, 2191 N. Rainbow Blvd.

EVENTS

The Black Mountain Institute at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, will present its next Forum Lecture series at 7 p.m. Thursday at UNLV's Student Union Ballroom, 4505 S. Maryland Parkway. The "Theism and Atheism" lecture will feature writers Sam Harris and Karen King. The panel will be moderated by author Reza Aslan. The event is free (895-5542).

"The Tell: Bar Stories" will be hosted by local poet Dayvid Figler 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Artifice Lounge, Boulder Avenue at Art Way in the 18b Arts District. The event will feature performances by seven writers and spoken word poets, each story paired with an iconic cocktail. Admission is $5 at the door; proceeds to benefit the Vegas Valley Book Festival (229-5431).

Fall Frenzy Book Fair will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday in the large conference room at Clark County Library, 1401 E. Flamingo Road. The book fair will feature new releases and best sellers written by local and regional authors. Two open house autograph sessions will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and 2-4 p.m. Admission is free (507-3458).

Book Lovers' Bistro meets at 5:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at Whitney Library, 5175 E. Tropicana Ave.

The Brown Bag Book Club meets at 11 a.m. the second Thursday of the month at the Laughlin Library, 2840 S. Needles Highway.

The Sahara West Book Discussion Group meets at 5:30 p.m. the last Thursday of each month; the Murder in the Library group meets at 5:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at Sahara West Library, 9600 W. Sahara Ave.

The Mystery Readers Book Club meets at 6:15 p.m. the second Tuesday of the month at Paseo Verde Library, 280 S. Green Valley Parkway, Henderson.

The Malcolm Adult Book Chat meets at 4:30 p.m. the second Monday of the month at Lydia Malcolm Library, 2960 Sunridge Heights Parkway, Henderson.

The Mesquite Club Book Club meets at 1 p.m. the second Tuesday of the month at the Mesquite Club House, 702 E. St. Louis Ave., in Las Vegas.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

The Henderson Writers Group meets at 6 p.m. the second and fourth Mondays of the month at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in the Running Rebel Plaza, 4550 S. Maryland Parkway; and the first, third and fifth Mondays of the month at Saxby's Coffee Lounge, 72 Horizon Ridge Parkway, Henderson.

The monthly Poet's Corner is at 7:30 p.m. the third Friday of the month at the West Las Vegas Arts Center, 947 W. Lake Mead Blvd.

STORY TIMES

Story time with music and crafts is offered Tuesdays at 11 a.m. at Barnes & Noble, 567 N. Stephanie St., Henderson.

Story time in the Square is offered at 11 a.m. Wednesdays in Children's Park at Town Square Las Vegas, 6605 Las Vegas Blvd. South.

Individual libraries within the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District offer a variety of story times and special events for children of all ages throughout the year. Most libraries require registration for their programs. Call the libraries for details.
