Customers say McDonald’s new mozzarella sticks are missing cheese

The reviews are in on McDonald's newly released mozzarella sticks. Based on feedback from fans of the fast-food giant, there's only one crucial key ingredient missing from the cheese stick orders — the actual mozzarella cheese.

According to ABC News, disappointed McDonald's customers have taken to social media to voice their complaints and share photos of the cheese-less mozzarella sticks.

McDonald's has since responded to the claims of cheese-less, hollow breading by citing melted cheese as the problem.

"In these instances, we believe the cheese melted out during the baking process in our kitchens and shouldn't have been served," McDonald's Communications Supervisor Jeanette DeBartolo told ABC News.

Mozzarella sticks launched at McDonald's locations nationwide this month as part of the restaurant's new "McPick 2" menu. Separately, the mozzarella sticks can be purchased 3 sticks for $1.
