Fashion event raises money for hospice
Neiman Marcus presented "A Flair for Care," an exclusive fashion presentation and luncheon, April 8 at Wynn Las Vegas to benefit Nathan Adelson Hospice, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
Guests including Phyllis Binion, Nancy Corrigan, Carolyn Goodman, Fafie Moore, Madeleine Andress, Carol Harter, Lynn Wiesner, Elaine Wynn, Sue Sullivan, Winnie Schulman, Rene O'Reilly, Shirley Biegger and Heidi Straus gathered at 10:30 a.m. to participate in "The Best of Everything" silent auction, featuring a sampling of fashion, accessories and jewelry created by designers from around the world.
Bill Terry, Neiman Marcus vice president and general manager, introduced the event's highlight, extraordinary fashions by award-winning designer Michael Kors. The Kors fall 2011 collection was modeled on two runways.
Luncheon chairwomen were Adelson Hospice founder Susan Molasky, Jane Schorr and Beth Weinberger.
Speakers included Susan Savage, who gave a $100,000 donation to Adelson Hospice in memory of Milton Blaustein, and Lincy Foundation Director Lindy Schumacher, representing Kirk Kerkorian's new Dream Fund, pledging $1 million to the hospice.
Among the 580 guests were Irwin Molasky, Lovee Arum, Elaine Newton, Janet Blumen, Barbara Stout, Jodi Ghanem, Victoria Otter, Becky Sullivan, Peggy Sanders, Dana Lee, Camille Ruvo, Andrea Hissom, Kathy Black, Denise Cashman, Linda Chambliss, Sally Ihde, Cathy Christ, Audrey Fredericks, Daryl Sullivan, Paige Gross, Julie Von Tobel Gleason, Leslie Parraguirre and Loretta Stasa.
"MAGICAL MEMORIES": Four teachers were honored during St. Viator Foundation's 23rd Anniversary Dinner/Auction on April 9 at the South Point.
Sylvia Cobeaga, Joy Davies, Barbara Hack and Carol Russo were honored for their significant contributions to St. Viator Catholic School.
Presenters of the 2011 Hall of Fame inductees were school Principal Kathleen Daulton; Wendee Johns, foundation president; and the Rev. William Haesaert. The awards were Waterford Crystal crosses.
Special recognition went to dedicated supporters Diane and Tom Keating. The Keatings are parents of eight St. Viator graduates. Currently, five of their grandchildren attend St. Viator School.
A live auction conducted by Geno Munari raised more than $43,000 for the school. Chairing the evening were Melissa Kelly and Lisa White.
