Show Us Your Bag

■ Who? Earl Shelton, special projects manager for Aid for AIDS of Nevada (AFAN)

■ Location: AFAN offices

■ Handbag: Tods tote bag

■ Are handbags status symbols? Absolutely. All accessories of great quality speak volumes. Those of us that carry them work hard and appreciate good craftsmanship.

■ What does this bag say about you? That I tend to be understated.

■ If someone found your bag and looked inside, what would they think of you? They would think I am eclectic and a label whore.

■ What's the most important item you've carried in your bag? Chocolate champagne truffles for my husband's birthday

■ What's the strangest item you've carried in your bag? I have carried a salt shaker in my bag before.

■ Tell us about the first special bag you owned. A red Dolce & Gabbana bag that I got when I was only 15.

■ Knockoffs: Love 'em or hate 'em? I hate knockoffs. They represent an awful underground industry.

■ Image is ... important, but it's what's inside that counts.

■ What's in your bag? Alexander McQueen scarf, iPad, playing cards, marbles (They are great to look at), Portable Cottonelle (You never know when you'll need them), blood sugar monitor (Have to keep my blood sugar in check).
