Show Us Your Purse

■ Who? Kerry Grant Geyser, manager and trainer for Las Vegas BootCamp LLC

■ Location: Willows Park in Summerlin

■ Handbag: Latico Bettina double-pocket tote

■ Are handbags status symbols? Definitely. Whether we like to admit it or not, most women are very keen on the cost for high-end handbags. Handbag labels are as distinguishable as cars. They either have the brand name displayed on the front, like a hood ornament or a very distinctive design that makes the brand unmistakable.

■ What does this bag say about you? My bag says I value quality and practicality and that I am not only sporty, but girly as well. It's simple on the outside and the inside is lined with a colorful spring flower design. It brightens my mood every time I open it. The size and shape of my bag also reflects my multitasking nature. It usually doubles as a business tote and even gym bag at times.

■ If someone found your bag and looked inside, what would they think of you? I am a happy, healthy and active person.

■ What's the most important item you've carried in your bag? Extra swimming goggles. Once I was about to enter the water at the beginning of a triathlon and realized that I didn't have my goggles in my racing duffle. Good thing I had an extra pair in my handbag!

■ What's the strangest item you've carried in your bag? A slingshot. When my husband and I were on safari with his family in Africa, I carried a slingshot in my bag just in case we had any encounters with wild animals. You're not permitted to carry any firearms so the slingshot was our only means of protection, although I'm not sure how much good that would have done us.

■ Tell us about the first special bag you owned. My Aunt Carol gave me her Dooney & Bourke handbag when they were all the rage. I had never had a name brand bag before and I felt so snazzy. I still have the bag.

■ Image is ... only truly valuable if it is an honest representation of who we are inside.

■ What's in your bag? Scarf, heart-shaped rock (I collect heart-shaped rocks from all the special places I have visited), photo from vow renewals (I surprised my husband on our fifth anniversary with a renewal of vows ceremony at the Little White Wedding Chapel drive-thru), Ironman medal (I completed the Ironman Arizona in November and I have it in my bag to take in for framing), swim cap, vitamin pack.
