Show Us Your Purse
■ Who? Kangi Kraemer, bartender at Morton's The Steakhouse
■ Location: Morton's The Steakhouse
■ Handbag: Betsey Johnson
■ Are handbags status symbols? I think so because it is an expression of the person carrying it. It is an investment in yourself. It doesn't have to be a designer but should be fashionable and fun.
■ What does this bag say about you? That I carry a big bag and must have everything in there. But it is stylish and matches my personality.
■ If someone found your bag and looked inside, what would he/she think of you? That I have too much and the purse is so heavy I could knock someone out with it.
■ What's the most important item you've carried in your bag? My passport, but only when I travel.
■ What's the strangest item you've carried in your bag? Wine key
■ Tell us about the first special bag you owned. Louis Vuitton. I loved it so much I wanted the matching wallet. My Christmas gift that year was a matching wallet. I could not have been happier.
■ Knockoffs: Love 'em or hate 'em? Hate them! I have bought them before and realized that they don't last as long, tend to fall apart and the price is not worth it. Since there are so many outlet stores in town I would rather just spend my money there if I really need a "label."
■ Image is ... a reflection of who we want the world to see.
■ What's in your bag? 1. Eyedrops (I have them for friends' contacts when we're out. It's nice to come to their rescue), 2. Cigar cutter and punch (I like to smoke cigars and I know others who do. Again, I like to be ready), 3. My Windows phone (I can always be in contact with anyone, surf the Internet, listen to music and check in on Facebook), 4. Wine key (It can double as a bottle opener and I always like to be prepared), 5. Hairbrush, 6. Ponytail holder and bobby pins (I can put my hair up, either in a ponytail or French twist for a quick change).
