Show Us Your Purse

• Who? Jill Nuthak-St. Onge, creative director for Global House of Hair
• Location: Global House of Hair
• Handbag: Chanel chain handle shoulder bag
• Are handbags status symbols? I think so. I think what is most important is the quality of a bag. I think everyone feels great with a well-made bag on their arm. Still, if someone gave me a bag that didn't have a designer label I wouldn't mind, just as long as it's well-made and contemporary.
• What does this bag say about you? This bag is all about class. It's small but can make a statement. I think it says I am fashion-forward but not too trendy.
• If someone found your bag and looked inside, what would they think of you? They would know that I am a mom with the crayons and photos. The gloss for hair and lips shows I'm simple yet polished. They would know that I am a business owner with my card in there.
• What's the most important item you've carried in your bag? My children's passports. We travel quite a bit and you need to have that information at hand, but I always worry they might get lost.
• What's the strangest item you've carried in your bag? A hairpiece. I have had them in my purse when traveling to and from fashion shoots. It's always funny when I stop in a store to get something along the way and the clerk sees a bunch of hair in my purse.
• Tell us about the first special bag you owned. A Louis Vuitton makeup bag. It was a gift from my stepfather. We were on vacation in Miami right after I graduated from high school. He has since passed and it has become a very special memory for me.
• Knockoffs: Love 'em or hate 'em? I think they are fantastic. I have bought many for my daughter. The way she loses stuff, they are priced right.
• Image is ... an internal and external reflection of who you are and your outlook on life.
• What's in your bag? Prada wallet, Kenra hair silkening gloss, Tom Ford tobacco and vanilla cologne, Lancome lip gloss, Crayons, business cards.
