SHOW US YOUR PURSE
• Who? Jin Caldwell, Ethel's pastry chef
• Location: Ethel's Factory in Henderson
• Handbag: Handmade MITZ bag by Angelina in Mexico City and M&M/Mars. Proceeds go toward low-income families and schools in Mexico City.
• Are handbags status symbols? Not in my opinion. For me, handbags are about practicality and being a fashion accessory. I don't think status is something people can recognize by materials they own.
• What does this bag say about you? That I am fun, unique, environmentally conscious and I love chocolate.
• If someone found your bag and looked inside, what would they think of you? I am organized and well prepared for a long and busy day.
• What is the most important item you've carried in your bag? My wallet with my family photos, identification cards and some cash.
• What is the strangest? Several varieties of good, smelly French cheese. My friends and I were in Lyon, France, for a pastry competition and we snuck in some snacks so we wouldn't have to leave all day.
• Tell us about the first special bag you owned. A brown leather briefcase by Blanc-Noir. It was a very special birthday gift from my parents when I turned 17.
• Knockoffs: Love 'em or hate 'em? Hate them. I would never buy something that wasn't authentic to the brand. I would rather buy something within my budget that is the real deal.
• Image is ... personality and style combined.
• What's in your bag? Daily multivitamins, hand sanitizer, Ethel's Red Proprietary Blend Artisan Bar, Blackberry, Kleenex, Gucci wallet.
