Frank Fertitta Jr. remembered at Bishop Gorman event

The legacy of Frank Fertitta Jr. was honored during the 28th annual Royal Order Knight of the Gael March 11 at Red Rock Resort.

The event is a benefit for Bishop Gorman High School, and inducts couples, individuals and foundations into the Royal Order of the Gael in appreciation for their commitment and dedication to the school.

Members of the Fertitta family attending were his widow, Vicki; daughter Delise Sartini, and husband Blake; Teresa and Lorenzo Fertitta; Jill Fertitta (her husband, Frank Fertitta III, was delayed in New York and unable to attend); and all the grandchildren.

During the cocktail reception, the 750 guests socialized with friends and alumni including Jackie Gaughan (honored as the first Gael in 1983), Mary Cashman, Sandy Miller and former Gov. Bob Miller, Rene and John O'Reilly, Sandee and Tito Tiberti, Mary Jo and Rossi Ralenkotter, Maria and Ted Quirk, Thalia Dondero, Paula and Michael Gaughan, Sue Sullivan, Mary Ann Rivera, Lucia and Gerald Higgins, and Bishop Joseph A. Pepe of the Diocese of Las Vegas.

Gorman's Student Body President Nicholas Manfredi served as master of ceremonies. John A. Kilduff, the school's president, welcomed guests and spoke about Knight of the Gael being a time-honored tradition that supports students, particularly with its tuitition assistance funds. He also talked about honors received by Bishop Gorman students during the 2009-10 school year, especially in athletics.

Lorenzo Fertitta spoke for the family, followed by a video presentation containing contributions from Cedric Crear, Michael Gaughan, the Rev. Bill Kenny, Pat Mulroy, Mary Alice (Bauchman) Nielson, Bishop Pepe, Tim Poster, the Revs. Richard Rinn and Bob Stoeckig, Sue Sullivan and Tito Tiberti. Lorenzo Fertitta accepted a crystal replica of the Fertitta Football Field.

Also among the guests were Denise Cashman, Nancy and Kel Houssels, Camille and Larry Ruvo, Susan Molasky, Rhonda Evans, Kathy and Randy Black, Sharon Carelli, Michael Frederick and Audrey Heinrich, Don Giancursig, Megan and John Adams, Janie Moore, Jackie Von Tobel, Valerie McCord, Carolyn Sparks, Mary Kaye Cashman, Sharon and Mike Nolan, Joanna Kishner, and Pam and Joe Brown.

Secretary of State Ross Miller and Gorman football coach Tony Sanchez also were in attendance.
