Springs Preserve offers bikes to explore trails
Families can explore 2.2 miles of trails at the Springs Preserve on two (or more) wheels with the Springs Preserve's new bicycle rental program. Bike rentals are available at the Exploration Loop trailhead, across from the Springs Preserve amphitheater.
Bikers can enjoy various historical stops, shaded ramadas and views of the cienega and natural areas on the trails.
Bike rentals are available on weekends and school holidays from 10 a.m. to dusk beginning Saturday. Members receive early access beginning at 8 a.m.
Costs to rent a bicycle are $6 per hour and $3 for each additional half-hour for members, and $8 per hour and $4 for each additional half-hour for nonmembers.
Helmets are included with the rental and are required for those 12 and younger. Child carrier rentals are available for $4 for members or $6 for nonmembers. No more than 20 bikes will be rented per hour to maximize enjoyment of the trails.
Individuals are not allowed to bring their own bicycles on Preserve trails or property.
