HGTV seeks renovated suites for upcoming 'Bang' show

Have you recently renovated your master suite? Then HGTV is looking for you.

Home & Garden Television's "Bang for your Buck" is looking for fun and enthusiastic homeowners in the Las Vegas area for an upcoming episode about master suite renovations. The renovations must have taken place within the past three years.

Each episode tours three similar renovations at similar price points in the same city. The show's design expert and real estate expert then determine how the renovation impacts each home's value. Additionally, views will get expert advice, answers on remodeling values and inspiring ideas for design.

Taping is expected to begin soon.

Robb and Stucky pays tribute to Las Vegas style with event

Robb and Stucky will pay tribute to Las Vegas' modern style during a daylong event Saturday, Nov. 6.

Interior design and architecture inspired by the city's unique flair and aesthetic will be showcased in a series of presentations at the store.

The first seminar, Leather for Modern Desert Living, will begin at 11 a.m. Designer Genevieve Rangel and Season Irvin, a representative from American Leather, will showcase contemporary leather upholstery styles and options, as well as explain why leather is ideal for desert homes.

At noon, drapery manager Kathe Zibert will explore the world of window treatments. She will discuss modern fabrics and fresh applications.

Contemporary art will be the focus of the 1 p.m. presentation. Designer Elsa Hechanova and Rosenbaum Art expert Vicky Georgiadis will discuss the best ways to use art in your home.

Next on tap is a 2 p.m. talk by Tyler Jones, founding partner of luxury home builder Blue Heron Builders. He will discuss Las Vegas as a design inspiration for his contemporary desert homes in his talk, Las Vegas Architecture with Panache.

The day concludes with a design round table. Designers Lee Lundquist and Hechanova will join Jones and other home-furnishing experts for a discuss on what's hot in the world of interior residential design in Las Vegas.

Through Sunday, you are invited to express your personal style by designing a glass holder for Glade's scented oil candle.

designandshine.com. The site will guide you through the design process . You may choose from the Clean Linen or Lavender & Vanilla fragrances. Once the design is created, submit it for the opportunity to win.

Two grand prize winners will receive $10,000 and possible have their creations produced and sold in stores. Additionally, there will be six first-place awards of $750 each.

The designs will be judged on originality to current brand portfolio, 50 percent; appropriateness to fit with on-trend home décor, 25 percent; and appropriateness to fragrance, 25 percent.

The contest is open to all legal U.S. residents 18 and older.

Diaz named Trailblazer by landscape association

Rob Diaz, a certified arborist and president/CEO or Land Care Inc. in North Las Vegas, was recently named a Trailblazer by the Professional Landcare Network.

Trailblazers are a select group of individuals nominated by their peers as dedicated professionals who have made significant and long-term contributions to the green industry. The program was launched in 2002 to recognize industry leaders and to share their wealth of knowledge with PLANET members. Diaz is one of 90 Trailblazers added since 2002.

"I am humbled and honored to be included in a program with others who have graciously mentored me through the years and will continue the tradition by openly helping other members," said Diaz.
