Nest Featherings series to focus on accessories

Nest Featherings, a furniture retailer and interior design services provider in Las Vegas, will present a seminar about interior accessories at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Entitled "Change Your Accessories: Keep Your Furniture, Get a New Look," the session will show participants how they can create an entirely new look in their home simply by changing a few accessories. A variety of decorating styles will be discussed.

The store is located at 6425 W. Sahara Ave. Reservations are requested and can be made by calling 362-6707.

Established in 1980, the company's team of interior designers have more than 65 combined years of experience.

Design Center hosts clearance sale

Las Vegas Design Center at World Market Center Las Vegas is open to the public today for a special inventory clearance sale.

During the sale, showrooms on the first and second floors of Buildings A and B will offer items such as designer sofas, chairs, bedroom sets, dining sets, tables, area rugs, lighting, accessories, accent pieces, lamps, wall art, paintings, frames, prints and mirrors.

Scheduled from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., the Pre-Market Inventory Clearance Sale supports Habitat for Humanity, Nevada AIDS Project and Opportunity Village. The California/Central Nevada chapter of American Society of Interior Designers hosts the event and provides professional designers to consult with shoppers.

Admission is $10 per person. While stroller check will be available, strollers are not permitted inside the showrooms.

Complimentary self-parking will be available; valet parking is $10.

Cash, Visa, MasterCard and Discover will be the only acceptable forms of payment. No checks will be accepted.

Deliveries of large merchandise can be arranged for a fee.

The design center is located at 475 and 495 S. Grand Central Parkway.

Robb & Stucky seminar geared to high-rise dwellers

Designing for a high-rise space poses quite a few challenges when it comes to interior design.

Robb & Stucky Design Director Ellie Stanisci and Designers Julie Cole and Lee Lindquist take on these challenges, including window treatments, furniture placement, furniture scale, and building restrictions during a free seminar, "Designing for Vertical Living," to be held at 2 p.m. June 26 at the store.
