Las Vegas Valley bars pour on the enthusiasm to support their teams

Oh, the sports we’ve watched trying to pass the time between the end of the last NFL season and the beginning of this one.

Basketball, hockey and baseball were fine. It’s those other sports we found ourselves watching — the ones regional sports networks show at 3 in the morning when they’ve run out of infomercials for home exercise programs a hyperactive cheetah would find tiring — that made us realize how much we missed football.

Like, do you know they have professional fishing? You know you’ve hit bottom when you’re holding a beer and screaming “Catch that bass!” at a guy who looks like the weird uncle you always try to avoid at family reunions.

But the long wait is over, football is back, and we celebrate the new NFL season the way we always do — by running the R-J’s annual directory of NFL team bars.

As always, every bar here has aligned itself with a specific NFL team. The owners of these bars promise that when their team is playing, their team’s game will be the only one shown, as per the monomaniacal goal of our enterprise: replicating the feel of watching a game back home while surrounded only by fellow fans of your team.

Also as always, if your favorite bar doesn’t appear here, it means the bar owner didn’t call us or didn’t call us by the deadline, or the team doesn’t meet our definition of a team bar.

We heard from 52 team bars this year, up four from last year. This year’s bar-less teams are the Arizona Cardinals, Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens, Carolina Panthers, Cincinnati Bengals, Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints, New York Jets, St. Louis Rams, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Tennessee Titans.
