Literary Las Vegas: JG Debs & B.R. Lee

As a bachelor, Brandon Lee found he was eating out every day because he didn’t know how to cook. His friend Jen Debs taught him to shop, what to keep in the pantry and how to prepare it. Sharing her skills was so fun that she texted him to say, “Don’t laugh. What if we write a cook book?” His response was, “I like the idea. A lot.” The resulting “Millennial Cookbook: How the Guy next door learned to cook” by JG Debs and B.R. Lee is a mix of shopping lists, recipes and snappy banter as Brandon learns how to make everything from pancakes to lasagna.

Excerpt:

“I want to make pancakes.”

“You’re not buying a box. I won’t let you. It’s easy. Do you have flour?”

“Why would I have flour?”

(Once home)

“Do you have lemons?”

“Did you tell me to buy lemons? No. You didn’t. I don’t have lemons.”

“OK, don’t worry, this recipe is Jen proof. Use vinegar. All you need is an acid … for … I don’t know why.”

“Jen!”

“Trust me. It will taste divine.”

“Divine?”

“Well? How do they taste?”

“I’m never buying a box again.”
