McDonald’s to test an expanded all-day breakfast menu

Starting Feb. 1, McDonald's will start offering an expanded all-day breakfast menu, which will include the popular McGriddle sandwich.
According to Time, in response to backlash the company received when it didn't include McGriddle sandwiches on its menu when it first rolled out all-day breakfast in October, the fast-food giant will now test adding the sandwich to its menu.
McDonald's will add the McGriddle and a new sandwich made with biscuits to its all-day breakfast menu in all 72 restaurants in Tulsa, Okla., for two to three months, before making a decision about whether the change will be permanent.
Because McGriddles are not a quick food to prepare, the company said it has concerns about how smooth the test will go.
According to LeAnn Richards, a McDonald's franchisee who led a task force on all-day breakfast, "the pancake buns need to be warmed up in ovens, and they’re also made with a frozen egg — rather than a cracked egg — patty."
Adding the McGriddle to McDonald's all-day breakfast menu will put a strain on restaurants in terms of juggling oven space and time in order to offer more variety.
