NEW YEAR'S EVE ENTERTAINMENT

Las Vegas is the place to be for great entertainment New Year's Eve. In addition to Strip concert venues and clubs, downtown Las Vegas features a party under the Fremont Street Experience canopy. The Smith Center for the Performing Arts offers a night of entertainment in Reynolds Hall. And for parties with a view of the Strip fireworks display, check out the High Roller or the Stratosphere. The downtown street party is themed "TributePalooza" and features 13 tribute bands including: Rio (Duran Duran), Generation Idol (Billy Idol), Fan Halen (Van Halen), No Duh (No Doubt), Red Not Chili Peppers (Red Hot Chili Peppers), The Rising (Bruce Springsteen), Police Experience (The Police), Rockin the Paradice (Styx), Wanted (Bon Jovi), The Who Generation (The Who) Pyromania (Def Leppard), Double Vision (Foreigner) and Don't Look Back (Boston).

The Smith Center

A Broadway musical extravaganza is hosted by film and television star Erich Bergen ("Madam Secretary," "Jersey Boys"). The evening will also include performances from Tony Award-winning singer and actress Patina Miller, Tony nominee Norm Lewis, Drama Desk nominee Capathia Jenkins and Las Vegas entertainer Clint Holmes.

The High Roller

The wheel will offer views of the city from 28 glass-enclosed cabins, each accommodating up to 25 guests with a full bar and a Champagne toast. A private cabin overlooking the Strip starts at $6,250 and includes priority boarding, a full premium open bar and a special Champagne toast at midnight. Individual tickets start at $250 per person for one of the lower cabins with a full bar and a Champagne toast.

Stratosphere

The Stratosphere offers Clair Sinclair's Tower Bash on level 108, the sounds of DJ MAC, unlimited three-hour bar, models, go-go dancers, performance artists, specialty drinks and a Champagne toast at midnight.
