HIKES

Red Rock Canyon: On Monday, examine the geological features along the Echo Canyon trail during a moderate, 3-mile hike; for ages 10 and older. On Sunday, an easy, 3-mile hike will focus on the springs, birds and animals at Red Rock Canyon, including Whispering Ben, Mormon Green and Wheeler Camp; for ages 6 and older.

Mount Charleston: On Friday, bask in the beautiful fall colors on a moderate, 3-mile hike to the top of Cathedral Rock; for ages 12 and older.

Around the Bend Friends: This group of people 50 and older who are involved in hiking and related social activities plans several hikes each week of various difficulty levels, including an easy-to-moderate social hike on Saturdays. OTHER PROGRAMS

Red Rock Canyon: On Saturday, kids ages 2 to 7 can learn how animals depend on plants for food and energy. Also on Saturday, hear stories about the Mojave Desert. On Sunday, a tabletop presentation will teach about teamwork between animals in the wild.
