HIKES

Red Rock Canyon: On Monday, a moderate 3½-mile hike around Ice Box Canyon. On Tuesday, a strenuous six-mile hike involving rock scrambling. On Friday, a moderate 3½-mile hike around the Arnight-Knoll Loop. On Saturday, a moderate three-mile hike through the Calico Hills. On April 25, a strenuous six-mile hike to the North Fork of the Pine Creek trail and a scramble up Fern Canyon to the waterfalls.

Around the Bend Friends: This group of people over 50, interested in hiking and related social activities, plans a three- to four-hour moderate hike each Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m. To learn more about the group and the meeting place for the hike, contact 228-0773, or the club's Web site: www.

Red Rock Canyon: On Tuesday, a program about the jackrabbits in the Mojave Desert for 2- to 5-year-olds. On Friday, an interactive program all about ladybugs for 2- to 5-year-olds.
