HIKES

Red Rock Canyon: On Monday, look for wildlife on a moderate, three-mile hike to the First Creek Grotto; for ages 12 and older. On Friday, learn the medicinal uses of plants found along Pine Creek on a moderate, three-mile hike; for ages 12 and older. On Nov. 11, learn about nature and geology on a moderately strenuous, three-mile hike to La Madre Spring; for ages 12 and older.

Around the Bend Friends: This group of people 50 and older who are involved in hiking and related social activities plans several hikes each week of various difficulty levels, including an easy-to-moderate social hike on Saturdays.
