INTERVIEWED STUDENTS AT BONANZA HIGH SCHOOL
JARED SMITH, Junior
"I think that high school relationships are worth it because it is good to have experience with dating people and being social. Plus, not all relationships end up with heartbreak and even if they do end up with heartbreak, you need to know how to get over it and move on. High school relationships can be fun and can make you very happy."
COULTER REYNOLDS, sophomore
"Personally, I believe high school relationships are merely created to start drama; they are not worth it. In my opinion, going on dates or having feelings for members of the opposite sex is fine, but one should explore rather than just date a single person."
Samantha Chan, Senior
"High school relationships depend on the couple; some are worth it while others do not matter. Some couples stay together for the rest of their lives, while other couples last weeks or months. When they break up, people tend to dwell on the broken relationship and when people dwell on that, that's when the relationship is not completely worth it."
Vivianna Gamez, Junior
"So far, I don't think that high school relationships are worth it. The main reason is because, as a student, I don't have time to share. ... Also, I don't think that high school students are ready to commit into a relationship because their minds are worried about homework or projects so much that they don't think about dating someone."
ERIC SULLIVAN, Senior
"I believe high school relationships are definitely worth it since they allow you to be close to someone and get ready for more serious relationships later in life. Making time will always be an issue regardless of age, and it's not like we're paying utility bills so money is relatively unimportant, too. The happiness of a good relationship, however fleeting, will always outweigh the potential downfalls that accompany it."
