RELIGION NOTES

MUSIC

Christ Church Episcopal, 2000 S. Maryland Parkway, will have an Advent and Christmas recital featuring local organists of the American Guild of Organists performing at 4 p.m. Dec. 4. Freewill offerings will be received to benefit the AGO Scholarship Fund (735-7655).

The Center for Spiritual Living Greater Las Vegas, 1420 E. Harmon Ave., will present a concert of acoustic music with Karl Anthony at 6 p.m. Dec. 4. A donation of $15 to $25 is suggested (739-8200).

Lamb of God Lutheran Church, 6220 N. Jones Blvd., will present a program of carols at 4 p.m. Dec. 4. A potluck dinner will follow. The event is free and open to the public (399-6451).

The 14th Annual Concert of Christmas will be presented at 7 p.m. Dec. 11 at First Christian Church, 101 S. Rancho Drive. The church's 40-voice choir with orchestra will perform, with Tim Cooper at the organ and piano. Dave Courvoisier will be the narrator. The program is free, and a nursery will be provided (384-1544).

Dr. David Dorway and Friends will present a Christmas concert at 1 p.m. Dec. 11 at First Presbyterian Church, 1515 W. Charleston Blvd. The program will include sacred and contemporary instrumental and vocal selections. The concert is free (384-4554).

"Sing We All Noel" will be the theme of the Choral Artists of Southern Nevada concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 11 at the Anthem Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2497 Cozy Hill Circle, Henderson. The concert will be repeated at 7 p.m. Dec. 12 at the Highland Hills LDS chapel, 3350 W. Alexander Road, North Las Vegas. The concerts are free.

The Desert Winds Wind Ensemble will perform "A Winter Celebration" at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 18 at Desert Spring United Methodist Church, 120 N. Pavilion Center Drive. The concert will feature a variety of traditional and new holiday music. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted (625-2787).

SERVICES

Lamb of God Lutheran Church, 6220 N. Jones Blvd., will offer Advent services at 7 p.m. Wednesdays beginning this week . A free supper will be available before each service at 5:30 p.m. (645-4998).

EVENTS

Liberty Baptist Church Ladies' Christmas Boutique will be 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday and Dec. 3 at 6501 W. Lake Mead Blvd. Items at the boutique will include handmade quilts, Christmas decorations, toys, a kids corner, baked goods and free hot apple cider (647-4522).

The Faith Lutheran High School Grad Nite Live will have its annual Crusader Christmas Boutique featuring specialty food items, clothing, home goods, a drawing, bake sale and other items, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 3 at Faith Lutheran Junior/Senior High School, 2015 S. Hualapai Way. The event will benefit Grad Night Live, an alcohol- and drug-free all-night graduation celebration for the high school's seniors.

Congregation Ner Tamid's Sisterhood will have its annual holiday bazaar featuring jewelry, clothing, crafts, pet gifts, children's items, food and other items, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 4 at 55 N. Valle Verde Drive, Henderson (733-6292).

The Jewish Community Center of Southern Nevada will present Camp K'helah, a winter break program for children ages 3 and older, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 19-30 at the organization's Summerlin campus, 9001 W. Hillpointe Road. The program will include hikes, scavenger hunts, arts and crafts, and other activities. Preschool children will remain on campus during the camp. Registration is open until Dec. 19; financial assistance will be available through Thursday (794-0090).

MEETINGS

The St. Margaret of Cortona Secular Franciscans Fraternity of Las Vegas meets at 12:30 p.m. the third Sunday of the month at Pace E Bene offices, 1420 W. Bartlett Ave. (453-2417).

Hindu Temple & Jain Center of Las Vegas, 1701 Sageberry Drive, offers Balaji Abhishekam services at 10:45 a.m. the first Saturday of the month in the temple, and Aarti Pooja services at noon Sundays (304-9207).

CLASSES

Reformation Lutheran Church, 580 E. St. Louis Ave., offers English as a Second Language conversational classes at 9:30 a.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays (541-1952 or 732-2052).

SINGLES GROUPS

New Life Christian Center has a singles meeting at 7 p.m. the second Friday of the month at 1229 E. Carson Ave. (387-5433).

Single Adults Learning Together, or SALT Ministries of CornerStone Christian Fellowship, meets at 6 p.m. Saturdays at 5825 W. Eldora Ave. (871-5050).
