Ryland hosts back-to-school drive; teachers get 1 percent base home price discount

Southern Nevada students are heading back to school Monday, and Ryland Homes will host its third annual Back to School Drive Sept. 2 to collect school supplies for the Clark County School District’s School-Community Partnership program.

And teachers are saving thousands on their new Ryland Homes with 1 percent off the base price of any new home in Southern Nevada.

“This is one of our favorite times of the year,” said Dana Rogers, president of Ryland Homes’ Nevada division. “All of us at Ryland Homes are passionate about supporting our communities. We love to show that support by providing school supplies to students who need them as well as a much-deserved discount for our valley’s hard-working teachers.”

The public is invited to join Ryland’s Back to School Drive by dropping off donations at any Ryland sales office through Sept. 2. Details, including recommended donations, and directions are at www.rylandvegas.com.

Many Southern Nevada teachers have chosen Ryland for their new homes and communities. The company, which was named the fastest-growing public homebuilder in 2012, has supported teachers since it started building homes in Southern Nevada 10 years ago.

Among Ryland’s teacher residents is Shelly Darland, who recently bought a new home at Monticello in Providence.

Darland said working with her sales team made a seemingly complicated process simple.

“With our sales counselors’ help, choosing the options and style we wanted for our new home was easy and fun. They were very responsive and knowledgeable that we felt very comfortable working with them.”

Ryland is building homes throughout the valley, including Evergreen in Mountain’s Edge and Amado Pointe in Summerlin. Both include the builder’s signature rooftop deck options and are Energy Star-certified communities.

Evergreen residents have parks and open spaces within the master-planned community, and they have their own private club.

The Club at Yellowstone spans three buildings with a fitness center, locker rooms, meeting rooms, big-screen TV, full kitchen and a children’s activity center.

Evergreen residents also have three sparkling swimming pools, wading pool, spa, basketball court, barbecue patio and outdoor play structure.

The neighborhood offers four two-story floor plans ranging from 2,588 to 3,700 square feet. The homes can be built with as many as six bedrooms and as many as three baths with three-car garages. The modern plans offer features like dual master suites, tech areas and walk-in pantries as well as oversized garages on large home sites.

Ryland’s Amado Pointe is the only new home collection in Summerlin offering rooftop decks. Amado Pointe’s two-story floor plans range from 2,175 to 2,389 square feet and include as many as five bedrooms, as many as four baths and oversized two-car garages.

“All Amado Pointe home sites are pool-sized and average 35 feet deep, which is very rare in Summerlin,” sales agent Kelli Ball-Cunningham said. “They also include oversized two-car garages and most also include a covered loggia, or patio.”

Amenities in the neighborhood include a swimming pool, park and two playgrounds. For those who enjoy outdoor recreation, Summerlin’s new 19-acre Mesa Park is within walking distance and includes tennis courts, basketball courts, greenbelts, barbecue and picnic areas, playground and softball fields.

Ryland Homes is currently selling new homes throughout Southern Nevada. Sales offices are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and noon to 6 p.m. Fridays. For more information, visit www.rylandvegas.com.
