The Hives, "The Black and White Album": A rock 'n' roll adrenaline shot, The Hives' needle-in-the-red yowl is sweatier than a track meet.

The hot-under-the-collar Swedish quintet sees its spiky garage rock get a makeover from big-name pop producers such as The Neptunes and Timbaland on its latest, heart-pounding disc.

Despite working with such established hitmakers though, these dudes are still grittier than sandstone.
