Here are a few things in news, sports, entertainment and pop culture that we’ve been talking about lately.

• Madame Tussauds Las Vegas unveils a Lady Gaga wax figure. u25B6 We’d call it "lifelike," but bearing any resemblance to real life is just an occasional thing for Lady Gaga.

• The "Brenda Starr, Reporter" comic strip will end Jan. 2. Coming soon: The slightly less exciting sequel "Brenda Starr, Self-Involved Web Blogger."

• Ukraine will open the sealed zone around the Chernobyl nuclear reactor to tourists next year. Everybody leaves with a personal glow-in-the-dark souvenir whether they want one or not.

• Las Vegas is awarded a Lingerie Football League franchise for fall 2011. Now trending on Google: Lots of "backfield in motion" jokes.

Installing ceiling fan is straightforward

Once you buy a ceiling fan, follow the manufacturer’s assembly instructions. With some fans, you attach the blades to the motor housing and then hang the completed fan, while with others, you secure the motor to the ceiling first and then attach the blades.
