Zappos wants to help you bring a pet ‘home for the pawlidayz’

Between all the hustle and bustle associated with cooking a huge meal and getting a jump-start on holiday shopping, Thanksgiving and Black Friday weekend can be pretty hectic.

Zappos wants to help get your mind off that by giving you a chance to bring a new furry friend "home for the pawlidayz."

In an effort to help match animals awaiting a "furever" family with a home for the "pawlidayz," from Black Friday (Nov. 27) to Cyber Monday (Nov. 30), the downtown-based company is covering the cost of adoption fees for dogs and cats through Best Friends Animal Society, along with more than 100 of its No More Homeless Pets Network partners.

Zappos said it's also going to help Best Friends Animal Society cover some future costs as well.

For every adoption made through the weekend, Zappos will donate an additional $150 to Best Friends to assist with the costs of food, medical care, immunizations and training for animals that are still searching for a human to love.

“Zappos is thrilled to provide homes for animals through Best Friends this holiday season,” said Steven Bautista, Head of Karma at Zappos.com. “Thousands of dogs and cats are in need of a loving home and we’re excited to give customers the ability to make a difference.”

During the four days of pet rescuing, between adoption fees and additional donations, Zappos' said its maximum contribution to Best Friends will be $1.1 million.
