1 man dead, another wounded in Tuesday shooting

One person died and another was injured after a shooting in east Las Vegas Tuesday night, according to Las Vegas police.

Police responded to reports of at least two people being shot inside an apartment in the 2800 block of East Bonanza, near Mohave Road, about 7:45 p.m., Metro spokeswoman Laura Melzter said.

Officers found a man dead inside the apartment, Meltzer said, and another man had a gunshot wound to one of his legs.

The wounded man was taken to University Medical Center with wounds police said were not life-threatening.

Investigators say the gunshots were fired into the rooms from outside the apartment, Meltzer said.

Police said Wednesday they do not have suspects or a motive for the shooting.

This is the 91st homicide in Metro’s jurisdiction in 2014.
