2 adults, 3 children who died in plane crash identified

Two adults and three children were identified as the people killed in a small-airplane crash in Bakersfield, Calif., on Saturday, the Kern County Sheriff's Office said.

The wreckage and the bodies of the Prices, Jason, 42, Olga, 40, John, 14, Mary, 10, and Olivia, 9, were found about three hours after the plane went off-radar about 10 miles south of Bakersfield, the Federal Aviation Administration said.

The Prices, residents of Gilroy, Calif., were en route to Henderson's Executive Airport via San Jose's Reid-Hillview Airport, FAA spokesman Ian Gregor said.

FAA officials were notified about the disappearance of the single-engine Piper PA32 about 4 p.m., Gregor said.

Search crews found the wreckage in Bakersfield at an orchard about three hours after the plane disappeared, the Sheriff's Office said.

Investigators from the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board were dispatched to the scene, Gregor said. It wasn't immediately clear what brought the plane down.
