2 hospitalized in southwest valley accident

Two people were hospitalized in critical condition after a two-vehicle head-on crash in the southwest valley Saturday, Las Vegas police said.
First responders were called at 6:47 p.m. to the intersection of Hacienda Avenue and Grand Canyon Drive, Metro Lt. Ken Romane said.
One person was thrown from one of the vehicles, Romane said.
The other person, whose injuries were unknown, also was listed in critical condition.
Both were transported to University Medical Center.
All lanes at the intersection of Hacienda Avenue and Grand Canyon Drive were shut down after the accident and were still closed as of 9 p.m.
Further details about the crash were not immediately available, police said.
